After a short walk, we were on the tram and quickly lifted from sea level to 1800 feet. In minutes we left the cruise ships below in the Gastineau Channel and were lifted into the alpines and rain forest above.
This is the AOY Art Center where the show is exhibited.
"Twilight" on the left.
The AOY Center is such a creative environment. Even the stepping stone outside of farmhouse is artsy!
I love the AOY sign.
The old farmhouse where the show is displayed is a beautiful place.

And the words every photographer loves to hear....."Don't take my picture!!!" ;-D
I am happy to be part of the Artists of Yardley 3rd Annual Juried Show. The Janney House is a lovely venue on a scenic farm. The show is a mix of art forms not exclusive to photography. I am looking forward to the opening on April 4th. Stop in to view the work of many talented artists and have a glass of wine:-)

I was left wondering about the handprints?

I had the opportunity to attend a printmaking session and take a few snaps of the broadsheet printmaking process. As with all aspects of the Mural Arts program, the process involves the full attention of the artists and the public. It is all about building community. Here is a little peek. Enjoy:-)
I was honored to have my image, "Lights Out At Phillips' Mill", chosen to grace the 22nd Annual Phillips' Mill Photographic Exhibition Poster. Each year one image from the exhibition is chosen for the poster. The poster is framed and grouped on the entry wall with the other annual exhibition posters from all prior years. It is pretty cool to be included in a group of so many talented photographers! Happy Dance:-)

Due to the weather the opening was postponed until tomorrow, Sunday February 16, 2014 from 1-4.
If anyone has any energy left to dig themselves out, stop by:-)
This sign left me wondering what it will be like if we get the next big storm predicted for the weekend:-)

Stay safe and warm!
The Sassafras was frozen over.
There were many herons, eagles and seagulls searching for fish in the few ice free breaks near the marina. I caught this young eagle swoop up his/her? lunch.
You can see the unlucky fish in his/her talons.
On the return home we passed that barn again. As we pulled up there was a flock of snow geese flying over the barn with the light setting their wings a glow. Of course, I didn't get that shot!!! I wasn't quick enough!!! So this shot will have to do. Thank you for stopping by. Have a fabulous day:-)

Is it still street photography if you hug, exchange phone numbers and go off to the market together? I met these great guys at the edge of the water. Within a minute we were friends. I am grateful for the tiny little moments of spontaneity that foster good times and great memories:-)
I love to watch my family snuggle up at bedtime. Don’t you agree that the little moments in life are the best?
A different take on birds in the snow. Maybe I am ready for sunshine and lighthearted summer days?
Until then stay warm and bask in your inner glow:-)
Oh to be young and full of bounce! How I miss the freedom of youth!
This young lady was a real trouper today. The weather was cold and dreary. The fog was so thick it felt like rain. She really rocked her shoot despite the conditions:-)
It was a lazy hazy winter day. I stopped by Lake Nockamixon to scope out some good spots to shoot. I climbed down the bank to see what the view was from below when the kayaker popped into view. A colorful surprise on a gray day. Click!
As we sat at the breakfast table, she became fascinated with the vase of flowers in the center. She pointed and told me all about the colors of the petals. We discussed which flowers she would like to have in her own bouquet as I snipped them off and handed them to her. I ran and grabbed the camera as she counted the petals in the above shot. Then I asked her to smell the flowers……….SNIFF!
That wasn’t quite what I was after. So I asked, “Could you hold the flowers up to your nose and smell them?”.
I asked her to smell them one more time. She stared at her bouquet pensively. Not happening Grammy!
Can you just hold your flowers out like this I mimed? She did ever so quickly as she giggled and ran away with her flowers.
This is how photography of children goes. You can wish for an ideal image. What you get is real, sniffing, fleeting in the moment life! There isn’t anything more ideal than that:-)
